The Churn Project is celebrating the success of its first free Community Health Day, Live Well, Feel Well, on Wednesday 21 January at Cirencester Baptist Church.
The community event gave people the chance to take part in a range of free, drop-in wellbeing activities, including balm making workshops, art therapy, stretch and relaxation and meditation sessions.
Attendees were able to get free free blood pressure checks from Cirencester College Nursing students and health advice from other organisations including Heart Safe, Healthy Lifestyles Gloucestershire, and Workplace Smoking Advisors. All in a welcoming and relaxed environment.
Michelle Bradburn, Community Wellbeing Coordinator at The Churn Project said: “We wanted to create a supportive space where people can take small but important steps towards looking after their health. Having your blood pressure checked can feel daunting for some people, so we wanted to combine it with creative, calming activities to make the day feel welcoming and accessible for everyone in the community.”
The Community Health Day is part of Blood Pressure Matters, a project delivered by The Churn Project in partnership with NHS Gloucestershire, aimed at helping people access blood pressure checks, understand their results, navigate healthcare options, and explore practical ways to improve their blood pressure and overall health.
