Super-Powered Half Term Fun with Hook and Loop Collective

  • 23 February, 2026

This half term, we teamed up with Hook and Loop Collective to make a super-powered activity morning that brought together 15 children from 7 families with a total of 23 people altogether. We were thrilled to welcome Mary-Louise and Steve from Hook and Loop Collective, arriving as ‘Gale Force’ and ‘Captain Compost’ dressed in their incredible costumes to set the scene.

We started the day with these marvellous heroes by making superhero masks, from trees and animal-inspired creations to bold fire-themed designs – there was no idea too wild. The children got really stuck into the activity and made some incredible masks. We were introduced to heroes like ‘Tree man’, ‘Squid boy’ and ‘Owl Girl’. The children were very imaginative and decorated their masks beautifully.

After finishing our creative masks, we headed out into the churchyard for a superhero parade, proudly showing off our creations before gathering back together to enjoy a delicious shared lunch. The session wrapped up with even more creativity as everyone drew their superhero characters and explored learning all the important parts about compost – it was a joyful, creative day for all involved.
