Churn Community Hub recognised at Cirencester Community Awards for Digital Inclusion work

  • 28 April, 2026

The Churn Community Hub was proud to attend the Cirencester Community Awards, organised by Cirencester Radio and Cirencester Community Development Trust, held at Cirencester Baptist Church on Monday, 27 April. The annual event celebrates individuals and organisations making a positive difference across the local community.

The Hub’s Digital Inclusion work was nominated in the Best Project category and selected as a finalist, recognising its growing impact across Cirencester and the wider district.

The project forms part of the Gloucestershire DIGI partnership, supported by funding from Gloucestershire County Council and NHS Gloucestershire, bringing together eight voluntary organisations working collaboratively to reduce digital exclusion.

The initiative delivers flexible, community-led support tailored to local need, including weekly one-to-one digital support sessions, Digi Hub drop-ins in Cirencester and Tetbury, and regular community outreach events.

A key focus of the project is partnership working with NHS providers and local GP surgeries to help residents access the NHS App and online health services. A recent large-scale drop-in event at Cirencester Leisure Centre, delivered with Phoenix Health Group and Cirencester Health Group, saw 100 residents attend. Many participants have since continued to receive one-to-one support at The Churn’s Community Hub, demonstrating the ongoing need for digital support services.

The project aims to build digital confidence and skills, helping residents access essential online services relating to health, wellbeing and social connection, while reducing isolation and improving independence.

Michelle Bradburn, Digital Inclusion Lead, from The Churn Community Hub, said:

“We are incredibly proud to have been recognised as finalists at the Cirencester Community Awards. Our Digital Inclusion work is all about helping people feel more confident using technology in their daily lives. Through strong partnerships and community support, we’re able to reach more people and make a real difference.”

The Churn Community Hub looks forward to continuing to grow the project over the coming year.
