Working Together to Improve Digital Inclusion Across Gloucestershire

At The Churn Community Hub, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to benefit from the digital world. Whether it’s staying in touch with family, accessing healthcare, applying for jobs, managing finances or simply feeling more confident using technology, digital skills have become an essential part of everyday life.

That’s why we’re proud to be part of the Digital Inclusion Gloucestershire Initiative (DIGI), a countywide partnership of charities, community organisations and public sector partners working together to tackle digital exclusion across Gloucestershire.

The Churn leads the partnership’s work across the South Cotswolds, providing local, friendly digital support while working alongside organisations across the county to ensure people can access help wherever they live.

Stronger Together

No single organisation can tackle digital exclusion alone. Communities face different challenges, and people need support in different ways.

By working together, DIGI partners share knowledge, resources, training, good practice and opportunities, creating a stronger network of digital support across Gloucestershire. Rather than working in isolation, organisations can learn from one another, develop new ideas together and make it easier for people to access the support they need.

The partnership also helps organisations make the best use of funding, attract investment into Gloucestershire, develop volunteers and Digital Champions, and work together on countywide campaigns that raise awareness of digital inclusion.

Most importantly, it means people receive joined-up support from trusted local organisations that understand the communities they serve.

Local Support Through The Churn

As the Digi partner for South Cotswolds, The Churn offers free, personalised digital support for people living in Cirencester and the surrounding villages.

Our Digital Champions provide patient, one-to-one support to help people:

Use smartphones, tablets and laptops
Access the NHS App and other online health services
Stay in touch with family and friends
Shop and bank safely
Complete online forms and applications
Build confidence using everyday technology
Stay safe from scams and fraud

Support is tailored to each person, helping them build confidence at a pace that works for them.

Together, we’re helping people become more confident online, reducing isolation, improving access to healthcare and public services, increasing opportunities for employment and learning, and enabling more people to live independently.
