One week to go until Walk The Churn – don’t miss your chance to sign up!

  • 2 May, 2026

There’s just one week to go until Walk The Churn, a special fundraising event celebrating 25 years of The Churn Community Hub.

Taking place on Saturday 9th May, walkers will set off between 8 and 9am from Seven Springs near Cheltenham, following a beautiful route through the Cotswolds to the finish line at The Waterloo in Cirencester. A map of the route will be provided on sign up.

To help the day run smoothly, participants are encouraged to pre-register online. Entry costs £8 for adults and £4 for under 18s, with pre-registration closing on Thursday 7th May. Limited entry will be available on the day (£10 adults / £5 under 18s), but signing up in advance is strongly recommended.

As there is no parking available at the start point, free coach transport – kindly provided by Ellison’s Coaches – will depart from Cirencester at 7.40am, 8.20am, and 9.00am to take registered walkers to Seven Springs. Please email kathryn.bell@thechurn.org.uk to book your bus slot.

Thanks to the generous support of event sponsors Comstor, all funds raised will go directly towards supporting the work of The Churn Community Hub. While sponsorship isn’t required to take part, those who choose to fundraise will help make a real difference to people across Cirencester and surrounding villages who are experiencing crisis, loneliness, or mental health challenges. Last year alone, the charity supported more than 1,700 people through a combination of group activities and one-to-one support.

There will be checkpoints and refreshment stops along the route at The Colesbourne Inn and North Cerney Village Hall. The bus will also stop at these locations, allowing participants who wish to complete a shorter distance to return to Cirencester part way through the walk.

Sarah Bourne, Chief Executive Officer of The Churn Community Hub, said:
“We’d love people to join us for what promises to be a great day, raising money to support our work. Don’t be put off by the 25km distance—with pick-up points along the route, you can take part in whatever way works for you.”

From mid-afternoon every registered walker taking part, whether they complete the entire walk or do a shorter distance, is invited to ‘finish line’ refreshments and a barbecue kindly supplied by Jesse Smith’s, where stories of the walk will be swapped, achievements celebrated, and sore feet rested.
