Celebrating Our Volunteers During Volunteers’ Week

  • 2 June, 2026

This week (1–7 June) is Volunteers’ Week, a national celebration of the incredible contribution volunteers make to charities, community organisations and local communities across the UK.

At The Churn Community Hub, Volunteers’ Week provides an opportunity to recognise and thank the many people who generously give their time, skills and energy to support our work. From befriending isolated older residents and supporting community groups, to helping at events, fundraising and providing valuable support behind the scenes, our volunteers play a vital role in everything we do.

Every year, hundreds of local people benefit from our services, and much of this would not be possible without the commitment and dedication of our volunteers. Their kindness helps reduce loneliness, strengthen community connections and improve the wellbeing of people of all ages across Cirencester and the surrounding villages.

Volunteering is about more than giving time. It creates friendships, builds confidence, develops new skills and brings people together with a shared purpose. We regularly hear from volunteers who tell us how rewarding it is to know they are making a positive difference in someone’s life and contributing to a stronger, more connected community.

This Volunteers’ Week, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to every volunteer who supports The Churn Community Hub. Your contribution, whether large or small, makes a real difference and is deeply appreciated.

Could you volunteer with us?

We are always keen to hear from people who would like to get involved and support their local community. Whether you have a few hours to spare each week or can help occasionally, there are a variety of volunteering opportunities available across our services.

Volunteering can be a great way to meet new people, learn new skills, gain experience and make a meaningful impact in your community.
