The Parish Church of St John Baptist Market Place, Cirencester, United Kingdom

Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra is coming to the Parish Church of St John Baptist in Cirencester for 'A Celebration of Contrasts'. The concert will begin with Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture, a playful and exuberant tribute to student life, brimming with good humour and spirited tunes. From there, we enter the haunting beauty of Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony, a masterpiece of lyrical melancholy and emotional depth, forever suspended in a state of poetic incompletion. The evening reaches its awe-inspiring climax with Saint-Saëns’ Symphony No. 3, the magnificent “Organ Symphony,” where orchestral brilliance meets the grandeur of the organ, performed by Cirencester Parish Church’s very own Director of Music, Thomas Hawkes.
